My brand design consists of a text logo of my online/social media presence name ‘Jabber’ and a graphic illustration depicting myself in a cartoony format as a dog/cat-like animal.
A common aesthetic on my work is to be very illustrative as I believe it is my strongest practice. To me illustration shows the viewer that their design has come straight from the mind to the hand, and then to the paper or PC, which in my eyes is a very personal and visually immediate approach to design.
The first planning sketches I made were with intention to create a much more in-depth and visually detailed design, but as I progressed to illustrate more ideas it became apparent that I should design a logo and illustration that were simpler in nature in order to be more recognisable and memorable to viewers. I believe my final design is quite iconic.
