In the Brynmor Jones Library I took out the book ‘Visual Communication Design: An introduction to design concepts in everyday experience’. In it I found lots of approaches to design that caught my personal attention. My main specialism when it comes to design is illustration, and there were many appealing illustrative designs I found in varying styles and complexities.

This page above shows two very detailed digital illustrations with rich colour and bold expressive patterns, and they are by far my most favourite pieces in this book. They immediately catch your eye from how bright and expressive they are, and can even show a story through its iconography.

This second page depicts designs of a logo, using graphic icons and text. I like these designs as they show professionalism, and their designs immediately tell the viewer their purpose as they tell their intent clearly.
